Jennifer E. Strong, D.O.
In Loving Memory of Dr. Jennifer Strong
Women's Health Care of Western Colorado, P.C. is deeply saddened by the recent passing of physician, Jennifer Ellen Strong (June 24, 1973-March 27, 2011). Dr. Strong, who specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, joined Women's Health Care in March of 2007.
During her four years with the group, she enjoyed the many facets of her practice, from delivering her patients and bringing newborn infants into the world, to helping women through surgery procedures and spending time with her patients for routine gynecological care. It was important to Dr. Strong that her patients always be given time and recognition during their appointments.
Dr. Strong attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT, and attained her Bachelor of Science (Magna cum Laude) with a Major in Biology in 1996 from Barry University, Miami Shores, FL. She attained her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Upon completion of her internship and residency from Tripler Army Medical Center, she became Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. She received the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon while on Active Duty with the US Army. She left the military with six years of service and the rank of Major, United States Army, to relocate to Grand Junction and join Women's Health Care of Western Colorado where she enjoyed the outdoors to her heart's content and passion. Her hobbies included biking and skiing, and she was truly a free spirit when competing in races.
Doctor Strong is survived by her father, James Strong of Landale, PA, and two sisters, Kathleen Delubi and Shannon Strong. She is predeceased by her mother. She will be sincerely missed by her two Labrador buddies, patients, friends and "family" at Women's Health Care and Mesa Midwives, her home for the past four years. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal."
