Office Hours and Appointments
Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm
Due to the nature of our medical care, emergencies happen and your doctor may be called away or delayed. If this happens, we will make every effort to let you know in advance so that you will not be inconvenienced. We also need to know if you cannot keep an appointment. We recognize our patients have emergencies too, but would appreciate you calling at least 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment.

Telephone Calls
Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions regarding your condition or treatment. Our nurses are specially trained to answer your questions and arrange prescription refills. If it is necessary for you to speak to a doctor, or if it concerns something a nurse cannot help you with, they will have a doctor return your call as soon as possible.

After office hours, calls are transferred to an answering service. The answering service will contact the doctor for you. If you cannot reach the answering service, please call the St. Mary's Hospital operator at 970.244.2273. If you live outside the area you may call our toll-free number, 1.888.311.4832 to reach the answering service. After hours calls should be emergencies only. For prescription refills and appointments, please call during regular office hours, when your medical records are available for review.

Emergencies
Emergencies are usually handled in the office when we are open. After hours, we utilize the Emergency Room at St. Mary's Hospital. If you need to use the Emergency Room, the cost is at least double the cost of an office visit. If ever you have an emergency and can't reach us by phone go to the Emergency Room or Maternity Department at St. Mary's Hospital. Every effort should be made to call us directly before going to the hospital.

Fees and Insurance
Fees are based on the time and skill required to handle your particular problem. If you have any questions about your charges, we will be glad to explain them to you. Payment is requested at the time of service, unless we participate with your insurance plan. If you need to make payment arrangements, our business office representative will be happy to assist you

We are participating physicians with Rocky Mountain HMO, Blue Cross of Colorado and several other insurance companies. We do not routinely accept State Medicaid. However, if you have Medicaid, you have the option of enrolling in Rocky Mountain HMO/Medicaid. In the event you have surgery or pregnancy charges, we will file your claims with your insurance company. We recommend that you contact your insurance company to determine benefits and any pre-certification requirements. For all other insurances, we provide a standard copy of your bill for office visits that you may attach to your insurance form and submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If there is an unusual problem, we will try to help you solve it, but essentially you are the responsible party for payment.
